WE RESTART TOURISM! GLOBAL TOURISM INSTITUTION GUIDE TO CERTIFICATION AND TOURISM RE-OPENING

The European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) and the European Tourism Academy ETA) have published a set of recommendations for the certification and safely re-opening of the tourism and travel industry in the age of disruption of COVID-19. 

 


The guidance and certification for hotels and destinations were released as part of a virtual meeting between ECTT President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and ETA Director-General Academician Mircea Constantinescu.






During the meeting, both leaders responsible for the development of travel and tourism sector will need to implement new measures, such as the ECTT Certification, fortify knowledge sharing and institute careful plans, to ensure that governments and tourism industries can operate safely in the age of COVID-19.



The Global Tourism Institutions (European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy) ECTT alongside members states, governments, experts, diplomats, tourism developers and other industry associations are working together to achieve effective tourism recovery certifications by developing meaningful action plans and activities that will allow for speedy and global recovery for tourism.

 



Part of our certification efforts includes offering the public & private sectors with the insights & toolkits for interaction & implementation to ensure that people are and feel safe however ECTT, our members and no-one in the travel sector can not guarantee absolute and 100% safety.

 

 

 

 





The Hotel GOOD PRACTICES IN COMBATING COVID-19/SARS COV-2 CERTIFICATION Seal and Plaque will give confidence to your tourists and guests and will restart tourism.

The official celebrations of World Tourism Day 2020 will be held in Djibouti and Addis Ababa, as decided by the European Council on Tourism and Trade Executive Board.



The event will be structured around a high-level think tank with the aim of opening the debate on the potential of the sector to enhance global cooperation based on tourism and fostering mutual understanding.






 

 

Brussels, Belgium, September 21, 2019-- World Tourism Day 2020 celebrations, held on 27 September, will be focused on Tourism: Building Peace! Fostering Knowledge! stated European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) marking also the fact that: the Day will be dedicated to exploring the contribution of tourism to fostering peace and bringing nations together.


The Autumn 2019 Meeting of European Council on Tourism and Trade and the official celebrations of world tourism had taken place at the headquarters of global tourism institution.



The events had taken place under the leadership of Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, European Council on Tourism and Trade President and a string of key decisions for tourism and culture future in 2020 had been taken.

Tourism was at the heart of recent days celebrations in Djibouti as the country was crowned as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM, has launched his new tourism strategy and received the visit of the leading teams of global tourism institutions (European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy). 

 



Tourism was also honored in the person of H.E. Dr. Anton Caragea, President of European Council on Tourism and Trade who was decorated with the Republic of Djibouti highest order: NATIONAL ORDER OF 27 JUNE 1977.

President Dr. Anton Caragea was informed about the Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan proposed measures for the development of the tourism industry until 2025


The state program includes 10 systemic measures with a significant socio-economic effect.


According to the minister, it is planned to create priority tourist areas and management companies in the TOP-10 of the most attractive tourist places, which will allow to implement more than 200 investment projects.



The project of the state program also proposes the development of specially protected natural territories with the involvement of business for the development of tourism infrastructure.


As part of the state program for the development of the tourism industry, it is planned to implement more than 200 investment projects, therefore we will provide 72.000 people from rural areas with permanent work.

European Council on Tourism and Trade and Ethiopia have agreed to reinforce their collaboration in the areas of cultural protection, historical promotion, sustainable tourism development, public-private partnerships and marketing strategies etc.

During an official visit to Ethiopia, ECTT President, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea inaugurated the celebrations marking the inscription of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia`s capital on the WORLD`S CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM list and have a line of high level talks in order to address the advancement of tourism in Ethiopia and the key role of the sector in the country’s socio-economic development. (Addis Abeba, Ethiopia, 30 January-8 February 2019).







The Government of Ethiopia and the Government of Addis Ababa are currently implementing a number of strategic measures to further develop the country’s tourism sector, including investment in infrastructure and capacity building on destination management and product development, through the recently established Tourism Transformation Council.

 





On the invitation by H.E. Mrs. Sahle Work Zewde F.D.R Ethiopia President, European Council on Tourism and Trade President H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea had visited Ethiopia at the head of a high level delegation.





These measures reflect how tourism is firmly established among the development drivers of the country, said Head of Government of Addis Ababa Takele Uma Benti in a meeting with President Dr. Anton Caragea, where he expressed his full support to the tourism sector, and the commitment of the Ethiopian government to make sustainability a priority in future tourism development.



European Council on Tourism and Trade President Dr. Anton Caragea commended Ethiopia for the political support awarded to the tourism sector and in particular for integrating tourism as part of its development policy.



In 2015 after the decision taken by the European Council on Tourism and Trade to select Ethiopia as the receiver of the WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION award the country registered an influx of over 1 million tourists and earned more than 2 billion dollars in 2015/2016 tourism year, numbers never achieved before and after in the Ethiopia`s tourism history.

 








The Head of Global Tourism Institution-ECTT H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea gives the start of Addis Ababa Culture and Tourism Festival and of Addis Ababa-WORLD`S CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM manifestations.

Jimma tourism potential and Abba Jiffar Museum as well as the city open markets left an indelible mark on the delegates who appreciated the city architecture and elegance and Islamic heritage potential and valued the impressive remains of the Abba Jifar palace towering over the city.

In the familiarization tour around Addis Ababa the delegation had explored the Addis Ababa City Museum, The Ethnographic Museum (hosted in former Imperial palace Genet Leul, Haile Selassie Museum, National Museum etc.) the Saint George Cathedral and Holy Trinity and Entoto Heritage Area (encompassing the Palace of Emperor Menelik II, Churches Myriam Entoto and Saints Raguel and Elias).







President Dr. Anton Caragea emphasized the importance for future of Addis Ababa of better highlighting and package the impressive potential of the tourism and cultural preserve of the Entoto Area.

 




President Dr. Anton Caragea emphasized as urgency the enacted as a special tourism and cultural preserve of the Entoto Area, in order to ensure its better protection and tourism role in development of Addis Ababa and highly valued the decision taken by the new dispensation of the Head of Government of Adds Ababa Takele Uma Benti to promote a safe and cultural oriented tourism in the city.

The President of F.D.R. of Ethiopia will receive in a large ceremony the official certificate registering the city of ADDIS ABABA and its surrounding landscape in the WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM Heritage List.

 


In preparation for this event H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of European Council on Tourism and Trade has publicly signed the official decision naming ADDIS ABABA as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM on January 19, 2019, in the presence of the diplomatic corps accredited to the global tourism institutions: European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy.






 

The event coincided with the conclusion of the First Academic and Mayors Forum for Culture and Tourism – ‘WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM: protecting heritage and promoting tourism’.

 



Addis Ababa was announced as the new WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM as the city is preparing for a string of celebrations during 2019 and 2020 marking 550 years as a political center and 130 years since in 1889 the Emperor Menelik II announced the city as the capital of his Ethiopian empire.

 


The decision of the global tourism institution-European Council on Tourism and Trade to register Addis Ababa on the coveted list of WORLD`S CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM comes in recognition of the city administration lead by the new city mayor Mr. Takele Uma Benti ambitious plans to place tourism at the root of the city development and in appreciation of the cooperation that Presidency of F.D.R. of Ethiopia extended to the Addis Ababa City Government.

Among the reasons for crowning the city as a world cultural and touristic hub the European Council on Tourism and Trade enumerated the existence of a vast array of historically and religiously monuments like the former imperial palace hosting today the Ethnographic Museum, the Entoto enclose of Emperor Menelik II and Empress Taytu , the cathedrals of Saint George, Holy Trinity, Medhame Alem –the largest cathedral in Ethiopia and the second in Africa etc.

 



By this recognition of Addis Ababa as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM, the capital city of Ethiopia is added on the world`s list of cities leading humanity into development and using culture and tourism as fundamentals for a better life.

 


The global tourism institution ECTT remarked in the official statement that: Addis Ababa is blending his position, in one of the most beautiful regions in the world, with an extraordinary potential of culture and history patrimony, becoming a true world treasure and without a doubt, one of the most impressive areas of Africa.


Addis Ababa can capitalize on the city status as World Capital of Culture and Tourism creating special tourism offers and touristic routes in the city and his adjacent territory (like the Blue Nile Falls, Lake Tana etc.) in order to retain a growing number of tourists in the city.

 





Addis-Ababa-Djibouti railway station built by French Architects and connecting today two WORLD`S CAPITALS OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.

 

 



With Ethiopian Airlines growth and more than 10 million travelers expected to pass through Addis Ababa an important part of these tourists could be attracted to spend at least one or two nights in the city bringing a substantial revenue into the city.


The decision of European Council on Tourism and Trade marks the end of a negative period in Ethiopian tourism and restarts the process to promote Ethiopia as a safe, tourist-oriented and perfect destination for the culture and adventure loving tourists.

The European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) and the European Tourism Academy (ETA) presented to H.E. President of F.D.R of Ethiopia Mrs. Sahle Work Zewde the OFFICIAL LETTER FOR WORLD LEADERS OF TOURISM AND DEVELOPMENT.


The Academic Letter outlines tourism’s value as one of the world’s largest generators of jobs and a powerful driver of socio-economic growth and sustainable development. To date, the Academic Letter has been received by 199 Heads of State and Ministries and Governments.




The Office of the President of European Council on Tourism and Trade announced that H.E. President of F.D.R of Ethiopia Ambassador Sahle Work Zewde will receive the OFFICIAL LETTER FOR WORLD LEADERS OF TOURISM AND DEVELOPMENT on behalf of European Tourism Academy “in clear appreciation of your influential vision in carving culture and national heritage of Ethiopia as conducive instruments in building tourism and in ensuring development for your people recognition of the role and significance of tourism on world stage”.

The global tourism institutions; EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE and EUROPEAN TOURISM ACADEMY had decided the theme, logo and dates and host nations for WORLD TOURISM DAY 2019.


The winners are: Djibouti and Cambodia who seen their capitals: Phnom Penh and Djibouti city nominated as hists of WORLD TOURISM DAY 2019 official celebrations.





The Autumn 2018 Meeting of European Council on Tourism and Trade and the official celebrations for WORLD TOURISM DAY 2018 had taken place at the headquarters of global tourism institution.

 


The events had taken place under the leadership of Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, European Council on Tourism and Trade President and a string of key decisions for tourism and culture future in 2019 had being taken.

 

 


The main issues debated where the selection of the 2019 host cities for World Tourism Day, and the announcement of official theme of the next year tourism celebration for European Tourism Academy and European Council on Tourism and Trade.


This theme will be instrumental also in the selection of new candidates for hosting world tourism awards ceremonies in 2019.

The city of Phnom Penh has also obtained WORLD`S BEST TOURIST DESTINATION status in 2016 and hosted the World Tourism Awards ceremonies the same year establishing himself as a powerful tourism and cultural center of Indochina.

Djibouti was registered as a member of the WORLD CAPITAL`S OF CULTURE AND TOURISM list, a repository of the humanities most important and significant cultural and tourism landmarks.


The ceremony has taken place in a festive and colorful atmosphere in Djibouti city and was honored by the presence of President of Djibouti, members of parliament, members of Government, diplomatic corps and members of the global tourism institutions of European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy.


As the press noted the world`s who`s who of tourism and culture has gathered for this enliven festivity. 



Djibouti played host for a week  (16 to 22 April 2018 ) to global tourism celebrations marking the inscription of the capital city on the list of WORLD CAPITAL`S OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.


Attending the ceremonies was a high ranking delegation of global tourism institutions European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy lead by President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.

The main event of the week of celebrations was the official inscription of DJIBOUTI as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM in a powerful, music and rhythm driven ceremony destined to showcase the cultural endowment of people of Djibouti.

 





On display where ceremonial weaponry, costumes, dances, ceremonies of Issas, Afars, Yemenis constituting the matrix of today`s Djibouti.


Actors, poets, dancers and musicians from far and wide contributed to a glittering performance and crafted a vivid portrait of a young and yet cultured nation.


Congratulatory remarks were addressed for the delegates attending DJIBOUTI as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM festivities by Ministers of culture and Islamic Foundations, Ministry of Tourism and a presentation of the country new tourism strategy was unveiled for the benefit of those present.


The core of the festivity came at the moment of announcing H.E. President Ismail Omar Guelleh as the new ACADEMICIAN member of EUROPEAN TOURISM ACADEMY with a powerful presentation speech by Academician Mircea Constantinescu, European Academy Director.

Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of European Council on Tourism and Trade has publicly signed the official decision naming DJIBOUTI as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM on April 10, 2018, in the presence of the diplomatic corps accredited to the global tourism institutions: European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy.


The induction of Djibouti as World Capital of Culture and Tourism will take place on April 19, 2018, on the occasion of the official handover ceremony to be held at Presidential Palace in Djibouti.

The Spring 2018 meeting of European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) has taken place offering new opportunities for global cooperation and tourism development.


The meeting enjoyed the presence of the president of Romania. Academician Emil Constantinescu.


Among the decisions taken during Spring Council Meeting was the inscription of Djibouti on the list of WORLD CAPITALS OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.


Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, President of European Council on Tourism and Trade has stated: among the recently inscribed candidates for the world top cultural award Djibouti is standing out as a luminary example.

The country encompasses ten tentative world heritage sites on tentative list ranging from natural treasures and natural protected areas such as: Lake Assal and Lake Abbe, National Park Foret du day to the tumulus of Awellos, cave paintings of Abourma.


The capital city, Djibouti is home to a treasure trove of architectural marvels from the historical Haji Hamoudi Mosque, European Quarter (Malik Square) and African Quarter, Djibouti Cathedral and Ethiopian Church Saint Gabriel of the Sun and the cultural blending space of Les Caisses etc.


Taking under consideration the large array of traditions blending in the country from Issa and Afar cultural heritage to the French inspirations, the incredibly rich and fascinating natural landscape offered for tourists to discover and evaluating the government decisions inscribed in DJIBOUTI VISION 2035 to make tourism a pillar of development we have taken the decision to validate DJIBOUTI candidature for WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM designation.

Djibouti has supported the building of Addis Ababa –Djibouti railroad, has constructed Africa`s bigger deepwater seaport, has garnered top-notch investments and rise up on being number five economy in the world in term of annual growth.


These are the achievements of an adroit, powerful and visionary leader that is creating growth where it was only poverty and opportunities where there was only despair and a miracle where it was only desert, outlined the merits of the new academician Professor Mircea Constantinescu.

Africa is on the rise is a well-known trope but the rapid climbing on the top of world tourist destinations is a reality powered by booming economies, improving security, better air connectivity and of course incredible natural and historical potential.

 


A new memento of this unstoppable march toward high-end tourism status was the decision of global tourism institution – EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE to recognize President of Djibouti as a global leader in tourism development.

On the scene of 2017 WORLD TOURISM AWARDS, H.E. President Dr. Anton Caragea of European Council on Tourism and Trade hailed Cambodia example as a beacon in a world in need of a model and appointed H.E. WORLD TOURISM AWARDS ceremonies included and the proclamation of Phnom Penh as the WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM, the supreme tourism recognition for cities and regions encompassing exceptional heritage.



2017 has marked a new height in the relations between Europe and Kingdom of Cambodia in the fields of cultural, development and tourism cooperation with the climax being the visit of European Council on Tourism and Trade Presidential delegation (ECTT) in Cambodia between 1 to 11 December 2017.

On 27 November 2017 The European Council on Tourism and Trade President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea signed in front of the diplomatic corps and specialists in tourism and trade and journalists THE OFFICIAL DECREE FOR PHNOM PENH as the new WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.


The decision comes in the wake of the General Assembly approval for the city candidature and endorsement as WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM, endorsement decided on July 29, 2017.



The 2017 General Assembly of European Council on Tourism and Trade -ECTT has gathered in an all-encompassing manifestation the leaders of world tourism, parliamentarians members of Parliamentary Assembly for Sustainable Development Goals, representatives of OSCE Bucharest Conference, Eurasia Conference and diplomatic corps accredited to European Council on Tourism and Trade.

President of world institution of European Council on Tourism and Trade, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea presented to his guests the achievements of ECTT at the helm of global tourism: creating and launching the tourism and sustainable development goals program, starting the global recognition program for GLOBAL AMBASSADORS FOR TOURISM AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS, supporting growth and employment across the world with more than 100.000 jobs created by ECTT exertions and supporting humanitarian activity and investments in vulnerable corners of the world by tourism related programs.

 


ECTT has fulfilled for another year his mandate to offer KNOWLEDGE TO LEAD THE WORLD for a better future concluded President Dr. Anton Caragea in his welcoming message to the delegates.

The main items of the ECTT Agenda for 2017 where focused around boosting the regional cooperation, layout plans for visa facilitation and the better promotion of European and world tourism.


On July 28, 2017 the session was destined to plenary works and on July 29 in a relaxed atmosphere, the General Assembly of the European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT), has taken under consideration the list of candidates for WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM and WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION for 2017.

The full power in selecting the world most important cultural designation for the above mentioned period was delegated to the authority of the ECTT President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.


After receiving the results of vote from Presidential adviser Mr. Gabriel Rasvan , H.E. President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea announced his decision to bestow the highest cultural nomination to the city of PHNOM PENH, the capital of Kingdom of Cambodia.





The WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM status for Phnom Penh will bring the inscription of the city as a cultural and patrimony hub of global significance and will also entice the city role as a part of the AGENDA FOR HUMANITY UN program and as a center for the implementation of sustainable development goals in the country and in the region.



President Dr. Anton Caragea lauded the Kingdom of Cambodia role in global fostering of tourism development, growth and economic development and in becoming a world model of SDG implementation.



Phnom Penh is practically littered with religious monuments, with incredible cultural artifacts with a beaming historical patrimony spanning for over 600 years and encompassing from Angkor type architectures and temples to colonial typical quarters all enveloped in a recent magnificent development.






The proposal of ECTT leader was approved by acclamation`s by all present on the venue and the office of the President of European Council on Tourism and Trade being empowered to make the necessary actions to bring to fruition the decision to inscribe PHNOM PENH as a WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM awardee.



On December 9th, 2017 the Kingdom of Cambodia will officially receive the WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM status, concluded the proceedings the President of European Council on Tourism and Trade, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.

WORLD TOURISM DAY 2018 celebration was decided to be held universally on September 27 2018 and the official theme will be TOURISM: PROTECTING CULTURE AND HERITAGE!


Another decision was to continue until 2030 the world level program of GLOBAL AMBASSADORS FOR TOURISM AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS.


These where the executive decisions taken by European Council on Tourism and Trade leadership on the Word Tourism Day celebrations.

 


Celebrated worldwide since 1980, World Tourism Day at European Council on Tourism and Trade is commemorated usually at the end of September each year and hosted in the capital of the country crowned as WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION OF THE YEAR.

 


The official ceremonies for WORLD TOURISM DAY have taken place in the presence of President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and having in observance members of European Council on Tourism (ECTT) and Trade, European Tourism Academy, diplomatic corps accredited to ECTT and members of PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDG).





In the opening ceremonies for the World Tourism Day Professor Dr. Anton Caragea has made the long-awaited announcement: The Ambassadors for Tourism and Sustainable Development Goals programme will continue in the next year.





ECTT President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea signs the decree to continue to the Ambassadors for Tourism and Sustainable Development Goals programme onto the next period.




As a result of the demands coming from leaders, statesman`s and peerless world personalities involved in the carving of new development strategies and in implementing United Nations Sustainable Development Agenda we have taken the decision to further implement the program and to entrust the European Council on Tourism and Trade and PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR UNITED NATIONS SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS SDG to continue the implementation of the program in the years to come.

On the same occasion Professor Dr. Anton Caragea announced the good news that: the international Campaign for the implementation of 2030 Agenda of United Nations, known worldwide as SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA, in the work of parliaments across the world has reached a first milestone, only after a year of existence, with the support of 262 parliamentarians from 22 national parliaments.

 


Now with this threshold passed, the Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s, is now endorsed across party lines, ideologies and national agenda`s by more than 262 current members of parliament from over 22 countries.

 


The creation of a Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s in the UN framework for world cooperation in the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals that was signed by the lawmakers calls for “a gradual implementation of Sustainable Development Goals in all national and local parliaments and elected assemblies agenda creating a global synergy for world level campaign aimed at bringing to life the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA”



The role of Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s is “to ensure international cooperation, secure the acceptance and to enhance the legitimacy of the United Nations SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA and strengthen the elected representatives ( parliamentarians) capacity to act and to be more effectively and directly included into the activities of implementing and financing the programs related to SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA.”



“This is an important milestone,” remarked Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, the Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s Executive President and campaign’s coordinator.

 


“The support of a UN Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s by such a broad group of parliamentarians from all the world’s regions shows once again that it is high time for the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA to be recognized as paramount for world development,” he concluded.

 


“If it comes to democratizing the SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA and to insure global cooperation, than the Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s is the venue for a technical and democratic debate, said Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.

 


“The SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS AGENDA would benefit from involving elected representatives in its deliberations. After all, in many cases it’s them who are needed to help implement UN policy at the national level, especially if it comes to the Agenda 2030,” said Mr. Catalin Nechifor from Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s .

 


On this momentous occasion the new logo of the Parliamentary Assembly for SDG`s was unveiled by Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, the Executive President.



We must note that: apart from members of parliaments, the campaign has also been endorsed by numerous former members of parliaments, distinguished scholars, cultural innovators, representatives of civil society organizations, and many committed citizens from all walks of life.

 


European Council on Tourism and Trade and European Tourism Academy had created and pioneered the PARLIAMENTARY ASSEMBLY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS SDG`s uniting world parliaments in the efforts to implement in their work and legislation measures dedicated to bring to life SDG in every nation.

Latin America has started a push for tourism development and international recognition.


The latest visit of European Council on Tourism and Trade top delegates is a part of Venezuela’s efforts to expand and grow the national tourism industry.


The visit of the world tourism institution representatives to Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is the most significant event for the country since 2005, when President Hugo Chavez government established the Ministry of Tourism, with the objective of developing the tourism industry in the country. 



After a wave of candidature`s from the region where registered for 2017 WORLD BEST TOURIST DESTINATION AWARD now it was the time for Venezuela to invite for a familiarization and discovery trip a high level delegation of European Council on Tourism and Trade and to start preparing for a candidature of Caracas, the capital city, to the international title of WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.

 


All this is offering new hopes for tourism growth and is paving the way for a cultural revival of Latin America with the support of European Council on Tourism and Trade.

Professor Dr. Anton Caragea, ECTT President remarked: Venezuela has one of the most diverse climates, with ice capped Andean mountains to the west, Amazon jungle to the south, wide rivers and tall waterfalls surrounded by tabletop mountains and unusual rock formations to the southeast, and a gorgeous, pristine Caribbean coast to the north that has some of the world’s finest and exclusive beaches, such as Los Roques and highest waterfalls on the planet, Angel Falls.

The cultural program of the visit included discovery trips to Natural Sanctuary of Waraira Repano, a tour of Caracas landmarks like The Cathedral of Caracas, Saint Francis, Simon Bolivar birthplace etc.

WORLD EXPO 2017 AND CASPIAN SEA TOURISM STRATEGY UNVEILED IN THE PRESENCE OF ECTT PRESIDENT ANTON CARAGEA

The Republic of Kazakhstan has succeed in a short span of time to accomplish immense strides towards tourism development: the unveiling of WORLD EXPO 2017 had placed the country on the map of development and growth, the event was followed by Caspian Sea tourism strategy public launch and finalized with the creation of the Kazakhstan Tourism National Agency.


These impressive achievements were made with the help and supervision of European Council on Tourism and Trade President, Professor Dr. Anton Caragea.



On June 10, 2017, the Kazakhstan capital, Astana, hosted the ceremonies for 2017 WORLD EXPO opening.


 

The event highlighted under the theme of FUTURE ENERGY is marking the hopes for a better future and outlines new technologies and solutions for next century energy from more than 100 participant countries.

June 10, 2017 marked the official opening of WORD EXPO 2017, occasion on which President Dr. Anton Caragea made a small allocution opening European Pavilion:

European Council on Tourism and Trade (ECTT) high-level delegation continued after three days spent in Astana (9-11 June) to a discovery trip along SILK ROAD trail and finalized with a tour of the Caspian sea.

 

 


Silk Road program of ECTT is a special program destined to highlight to the world the importance and tourism and cultural significance of the SILK ROAD as a center of tourism discovery trips.

 


During 13-20 June 2017 European Council on Tourism and Trade delegation visited the cities of Aktau and Atyrau, inspected tourist facilities on Caspian Sea and tourist resorts in the area and give a full support to KAZAKHSTAN ON THE SEA program.

Kazakhstan on the Sea project of President Nursultan Nazarbayev envisages to transform Caspian Sea shore line in a center for water sports and summer leisure rebuilding infrastructure in the area, constructing a host of high-class resorts and refurbishing beach and sporting areas along the coast.

During our visit, we have been inspired by the cultural facilities of the Aktau and conquered by the Mangyshlak Peninsula cultural spots like SHAKPAK-ATA Grotto and rock hewn buildings and Sufi mosques of the areas and the incredible Mangyshlak canyon can become centers for regional and global tourism.

For the first five perfumes symbols were chosen which Dali appreciated and widely used: an eye (Regard Scintillant de Mille Beautes), butterfly (Voyage Onirique du Papillon de Vie), goblet (Calice de la Seduction Eternelle), hand (Melodie du Cygne de la Main) and the clock (Fluidite du Temps Imaginaire).

ECTT PRESIDENT DR. ANTON CARAGEA RECEIVES WORLD LEADERS LETTER

The OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT OF EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE had made public the world tourism institution support for the global implementation of Sustainable Development Goals on world academic community and instructed EUROPEAN TOURISM ACADEMY to continue the impressive exertions developed in this direction.




President of United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Peter Thomson had addressed a letter to the head of states and global leaders urging a better knowledge and acceptance of Sustainable Development Goals.

 

 

The re-enforced cooperation agreement to the implementation of SDG had come as a result of a general appeal from UN General Assembly President.

 


On April 19, 2017 H.E. President of United Nations General Assembly, Ambassador Peter Thomson had addressed a letter to the head of states and global leaders urging a better knowledge and acceptance of Sustainable Development Goals in the world and asking a universal effort for the implementation of SDG in learning process across the world.

 


The letter addressed to H.E. President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea and to European Tourism Academy reads in part:


Everything I have learned as President of the United Nations General Assembly has convinced me that, taken together with the Paris Climate Agreement, the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda provides humanity with the best chance we have to shape a sustainable way of life for our species upon this planet.


In pursuit of this high purpose, I am writing to you and every Head of Government of the Member States of the United Nations, with the request that national efforts are made to educate young people on the vital importance of the Sustainable Development Goals.


If every school curriculum in the world incorporates the Sustainable Development Goals, every school teaches them, and every young person on the planet is made aware of them as rights and responsibilities, the world will stand a very good chance of attaining the Goals by 2030.


I am pleased to advise, Excellency, that in support of the policies that your government may decide on the matter, tools are already available to help support SDG learning, such as those developed by UNICEF, UNESCO, the Global Partnership for Education and the “World’s Largest Lesson”.

GRANDIOSE CELEBRATION OF EUROPE DAY

Building on a successful cooperation on last year’s Europe Day, the European Tourism Academy supported the EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE(ECTT) to organize the Europe Day on Tuesday , 9 May 2017.



2017 EUROPE DAY reception has enjoyed a massive participation and the launch of new partnerships for European Council on Tourism and Trade with DALI HAUTE PARFUMERIE.



The reception was attended by over 1000 people from including prominent guests such as government representatives, diplomatic corps in Bucharest, business leaders, academia, and the media.


The celebration started with the Europe anthem “Ode to Joy”. H.E. Professor Dr. Anton Caragea , the Head of ECTT/ Ambassador welcomed the attendees with a brief speech followed by European Tourism Academy Director , Academician Mircea Constantinescu.

The ceremony was officially opened with the traditional cake-cutting by President Professor Dr. Anton Caragea together with Academician Mircea Constantinescu, and High Commissioner for Tourism, Mr. Mark Doda as well as all ECTT accredited ambassadors in Bucharest.


EUROPEAN COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND TRADE(ECTT ) and European Tourism Academy , in cooperation with its partners would like to thank all the sponsors and European embassies by giving a great contribution to make Europe Day Reception as a memorable celebration of Europe and ECTT accomplishments.



Welcoming the guests for EUROPE DAY 2017


On the fringes of the celebrations and reception was launched the BEST OF EUROPE/BEST OF THE WORLD program promoting the best products and lifestyle goods from across Europe and the world.


The first company to be enrolled in the product promotion and universal recognition of value was COFINLUXE and DALI HAUTE PERFUMERIE, the creator of WORLD FAVORITE PERFUME for 2017.

The European Council on Tourism and Trade had hosted the formal reception at European Tourism Academy Headquarters on May 9 from 6:30pm to 10:30pm.


Invitees lists included ministers, members of Parliament, justices, senior officials, members of the diplomatic crop, representatives of international and regional organizations and of the civil society, media, development partners and representatives of the private sector.
